What to Expect After Purchasing

WHAT'S NEXT?

  1. Schedule Site Inspection

    Your Clopay installer will contact you about the on-site inspection of your garage door opening.

  2. Conduct Site Inspection

    At the site inspection Clopay will ensure that the right size door was ordered and determine if any additional work is needed to complete installation. Examples of additional work may include: (For detailed specifications visit the "Teach Me About Garage Doors" section @ www.clopaydoor.com

    • Replace jambs (Interior Reframe) - This would be necessary if the wood framing around the interior garage door opening is rotted. damaged. or not up to current code.
    • Install Low Headroom Kit -This would be required if the distance between the top of the garage door opening and the lowest hanging obstruction within the path of the door is less than 12 inches without a garage door opener or 15 inches with an opener.

    NOTE: Clopay will notify Home Depot if any additional work is needed, then they will contact you to let you know what needs to be done and why. (Additional charges may apply).

  3. Order Garage Door

    Once the site inspection is complete your new Clopay garage door will be ordered. and built. Your Clopay installer will then call you to schedule the installation date of your new garage door. Most doors are installed within 2-4 weeks depending on the model of the door.

  4. Prepare for Installation

    Consider the following to prepare for the installation for your new garage door:

    • Make arrangements for an adult 18 years or older to be present during the installation.
    • Your garage must be cleared out at least 10' back from the opening of your garage prior to your installation appointment.
  5. Installation

    To ensure a successful installation date please follow the guidelines below

    • An adult 18 years or older must be present for the installation and be authorized to sign the installation paperwork.
    • Upon Completion: The installer will review the care and maintenance of your new Clopay® garage door with you.
    • You will be asked to inspect the newly installed door(s) with the installer and to sign a customer acceptance form. This form is required on all Home Depot installations.
